The Sport Physiotherapy Canada – Nova Scotia Section Executive has been hard at work to develop a $200.00 merit award to encourage and reward our student members for their participation in sport coverage throughout the province. Dr. Nathan Urquhart delivered a very interesting and informative presentation on post-op rehabilitation for ACL reconstruction and meniscus repair/transplat for our speaker series/webinar at the CASM conference in Halifax. Thank you! We would also like to thank all those that attended in person and online.

Volunteers Needed for FUNFitness Screen at Special Olympics National Summer Games


Details: FUNFitness screen is a Physiotherapy screen consisting of standardized tests of ROM, strength, balance and CV endurance. This is to provide these athletes, who may not get full access to the health system, an opportunity to be screened and given education on ways to decrease future injury risk.

When: Wednesday Aug. 1, 2018- Friday Aug. 3, 2018
Where: Antigonish.
What: Looking for 8-12 volunteers over the course of three days. The screen will be running from 9am – 5pm. (with a break for lunch). Initial call for volunteers for those that may be able, to help out for a full day or even half a day (9-1, 1-5). Training will be provided prior to each shift as required.Transportation to the event will be reimbursed, meals will be provided and accommodation of those who would like to help out for multiple days will also be provided.
