2020 Executive Committee Nomination Package

2020 Call for Nominations the SPC Board of Directors

The SPC Nomination Chairperson is putting this call out for interested members to consider joining the SPC Executive Committee. For 2020 there are 3 open Committee positions.

Members wishing to be nominated should fill out the attached nomination form, candidate statement and issues of the day document. Elections will be held at the SPC Annual Members Meeting (AMM) at the Fairmont Banff Springs Resort on April 30, 2020 (in conjunction with the CASEM Annual Symposium). Candidates will be required to attend in person or via webcast/skype to introduce themselves to the AMM attendees.

Successful candidates will hold their positions for two years commencing at the Annual Members Meeting.

About the Role

The Committee has exciting conversations and implements tactics that contribute to the advancement of the Sport Physiotherapy profession. Interacting with stakeholders and members helps inform you as a board member. Committee members are also eligible to take the Chair or Chair-Elect role in years it is open for election, this is a wonderful way to interact with the all components of CPA.

SPC is entering the end of our strategic plan. Highlights include revamping the Credential Exam Syllabus and Reference list, making applications to Major Games more equitable and continuing to build our SPC Profile, in particular our external profile.

Time Commitment

The SPC Executive Committee meets twice a year in person, in the late fall for a strategic planning session and at the SPC AMM in the spring. In addition, the Committee meets via teleconference 4-6 additional times throughout the year as required. The next SPC in person meeting is TBA but may be in conjunction with the American Team Concept Conference in December and requires you to travel to the meeting. Expenses related to board travel are covered in the SPC budget.
