Seeking multiple experienced Physical Therapists and Chiropractors to work with provincial and national teams in China

This is a one of a kind opportunity to work with provincial, national and Olympic athletes that is almost impossible to find in any other country and will create new possibilities for you in your home country.

Team China

Contracts (salary and benefits) will be directly with the Chinese Olympic Committee (COC) and administered by Beijing Yanding (BY) Team China PT/PC Project Director.

Physical Therapists (PT) will be responsible for the direct physical therapy care and team therapy programming for one or more national sport teams including injury prediction and prevention, injury assessment and treatment, as well as performance enhancement. The COC will match your experience and interests to the appropriate national sport(s) teams. PTs will operate out of National Training Centres or any other location as directed by the requirements of the team.

This is an exciting opportunity for experienced and passionate PTs who possess a valid MSc. in physiotherapy (or equivalent) from a recognized institution as well as a current PT license in good standing and malpractice insurance. You will be given the opportunity to work with Team China athletes as part of a team which includes experienced Technical and Performance Coaches.

The successful candidate will have proven experience working with high performance athletes and teams. Specifically, we are looking for PTs with advanced training in manual therapy/manipulation, dry needling, movement analysis (e.g. FMS, SFMA etc.), advanced assessment and treatment systems training (e.g. DNS, Anatomy Trains KMI, FST, FRR/FRS etc.) and strength and conditioning (e.g. CSCS, CEP).

Successful candidates will be offered extendable one-year contracts. A performance review will be completed annual and extensions will be offered at that time. The goal is to maintain PT staff with teams in order to prepare athletes for the next Summer and Winter Olympics (2-4 years). This position will require domestic and international travel. The ability to read, write, and speak English is mandatory.

Salary range is 5,000-6,000USD (equivalent in RMB) per month (pre-tax) dependent upon experience and qualifications. Benefits includes economy flight to China and return at the end of the contract, health insurance plan, reimbursement for visa application costs upon arrival in China, one international return flight (economy) per year, 20 days of paid holidays per year, and no cost accommodations and provided at the appropriate training site(s), and a minimum of 12 days of education per year through the Movement Academy.

For married PTs with a spouse traveling to China, an additional 1,000USD/month to assist with apartment rental may be available for qualified applicants. Any additional spousal costs will be at the applicant’s expense.

At this time, we have no ability to support the housing of families.


We are also looking for PTs and Chiros with experience in Winter Paralympic Sport (Sledge Hockey, Alpine Ski, Nordic Ski, Biathlon etc.), archery and shooting, swimming, triathlon, soccer, rowing and canoe, and rugby 7’s for both Provincial and National teams.
