Description
Primary Purpose: Provide sport focused physiotherapy expertise to the general public and
University of Saskatchewan population out of the Ron and Jane Graham Sport Science and
Health Centre.
Nature of Work: Reports to the Associate Athletics Officer – Program Operations, Huskie
Athletics. The Sport Physiotherapist is required to work under pressure, in a high volume and
dynamic environment within an alternative work plan. No SGI or WCB caseload is required for
this positon.
Accountabilities:
Delivers sport physiotherapy, including but not limited to; rehabilitation, post-operative
care, return to sport progressions, injury prevention, assessment and treatment,
concussion management, and return to play programming;
Leads the fee for service program, responsible for business development and revenue
generation for the physiotherapy services delivered out of the Ron and Jane Graham
Sport Science and Heath Centre;
Builds client database and encourages client engagement in the physiotherapy program
allowing the client to meet their clinical, health, and lifestyle goals;
Effectively communicate with clients allowing them to confidently make informed
decisions about their plan of care, see the value services offered and maintain
engagement with their rehabilitation;
Collaborate with Huskie Health and Human Performance Centre (HPC) employees to
provide tailored services and packages to the public;
Effectively communicate with researchers and research employees to support research
conducted out of Ron and Jane Graham Sport Science and Heath Centre;
Provide back-up coverage to Huskie Health Team Physiotherapists who require athlete
or team coverage at peak times throughout the season;
Ensure privacy policies and procedures adhere to professional practice guidelines and
university policy;
Adheres to Huskie Health charting standards;
Ensure Huskie Health budgetary targets are met;
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education: Master of Physical Therapy/BScPT or equivalent. A Certificate or Diploma in Sport
Physiotherapy is preferred.
Licenses: Eligible for licensure with the Saskatchewan College of Physical Therapists; valid First
Aid, CPR and Sport First Responder Certification and membership with the Canadian
Physiotherapy Association (CPA) is encouraged.
Experience: Experience working in a fee-for-service orthopedic and sports physiotherapy clinic;
previous experience working with elite athletes in a team environment.
Skills: An entrepreneurial skillset assisting in the development and establishment of a newly
founded private practice. Strong communication and organizational skills required. Knowledge
and proficiency in Electronic Medical Records.
