Sport physiotherapist (temporary position)

Immediate supervisor: Chief Physiotherapist

Job description:

Under the supervision of the chief physiotherapist, the sport physiotherapist works closely with other sport medicine specialists to deliver High Performance Sport Medicine Services. He provides sport therapy services to the designated sport and athletes. He supports services in order to optimize individual and group performances. He works closely with the athlete’s or group’s Integrated Support Team (IST).

The main responsibilities in relation to the position are as follows:
Provide physiotherapy services to athletes on site or travelling. Might be called upon to accompany teams during competitions. Might be called upon to participate in Integrated Support Teams (IST) meetings. Provide the coaches with the results of the various analyzes and recommendations related to the evaluations. Participate in the athlete evaluation program. May be called upon to perform certain tasks related to the sanitary crisis. Participate in communications relating to his service. Maintain harmonious and productive relationships with partners.

Bachelor or Master Degree in Physiotherapy. Have at least three (3) years of experience working with athletes. Be a member in good standing with L’Ordre professionnel de la Physiothérapie du Québec and Sport Physiotherapy Canada. Have a valid Sports First Responder certification. Have completed level 2 in manual therapy and be on the way to completing level 3. Hold a valid Sports Physiotherapy Certificate or Degree would be an asset.

Work schedule during the day week. Be available evenings and weekends (occasionally). Be available to travel (up to 30 to 40 days of travel are expected). Have an excellent knowledge of the sports medicine, sports science field, and high-performance athlete rehabilitation and treatment tools. Have excellent knowledge of oral and written French and English. Have a very good understanding of high-performance sports and the Canadian and Québec sports systems. Have very strong abilities using different computer programs (Microsoft Office suite).

Duration: Temporary position – One-year contract with possibility of extension
Location: Montreal (Olympic Park)
Working Hours: Full time
Start date: October 2021
Salary: An annual salary between $ 54,693 and $ 77,223 depending on experience and competencies. Possibility to count FCAMPT and Sports Physiotherapy Mentorship hours during the contract.
