Sport Physiotherapist / Athletic Therapist
Assigned to the short track speed skating team

Immediate supervisor: Chief Physiotherapist

Job description:
Under the supervision of the chief physiotherapist, the sport physiotherapist/athletic therapist works closely with other sport medicine specialists to deliver High Performance Sport Medicine Services. He provides sport therapy services to the designated sport and athletes. He supports services in order to optimize individual and group performances. He works closely with the athlete’s or group’s Integrated Support Team (IST).

The main responsibilities in relation to the position are as follows:
Provide sport therapy services to designated athletes, training groups, mainly at INS Québec’s clinic, at training site or on the road. Involve with the designated sport IST. Provide coaches with testing results analysis and recommendations. Be involved in the athlete evaluation program. Be involved with sport therapy communication, nurture productive and positive working relationship with partners.

Requirements:
Sport Physiotherapist
Master Degree in Physiotherapy. Be a member in good standing with L’Ordre professionnel de la Physiothérapie du Québec and Sport Physiotherapy Canada. Have at least eight (8) years of experience working with athletes. Have a valid Sports First Responder certification. Have completed or currently completing level 2 in manual therapy and be on the way to completing level 3. Hold a valid Sports Physiotherapy Certificate.

Athletic Therapist
Bachelor Degree in science with specialization in Athletic Therapy (a master’s degree would be an asset). Have at least eight (8) years of experience working with athletes. Have completed osteopathic training. Member in good standing of Canadian Athletic Therapist Association (CATA) and the Corporation des thérapeutes du sport du Québec (CTSQ). Have training to maintain of national certification. Hold a CATA’s Sport Therapy Certification.

Work schedule during the day week. Be available evenings and weekends. Be available for 55 days of travel. Have an excellent knowledge of the sports medicine, sports science field, and high-performance athlete rehabilitation and treatment tools. Have excellent knowledge of oral and written French and English. Have a very good understanding of high-performance sports and the Canadian and Québec sports systems. Have very strong abilities using different computer programs (Microsoft Office suite).
