Huskie Health is seeking a physiotherapist to support and enhance the performance of our student-athletes and clients.
Primary Purpose: Provide high-quality, sport focused physiotherapy care.
Nature of Work: Reports to the Associate Athletics Officer – Program Operations, Huskie Athletics and takes day to day direction from the Head Physiotherapist. The physiotherapist is required to work under pressure, in a high volume and dynamic environment within an alternative work plan including evening and weekend work.
Accountabilities:
Provide evidence supported sport physiotherapy to clients including but not limited to: emergency on field care, accurate and timely assessment, rehabilitation, post-operative care, return to sport progressions and injury prevention;
Delivers physiotherapy services to clients as a part of the fee for service program for the physiotherapy service. Meets or exceeds all revenue targets.
Effectively communicate with clients allowing them to confidently make informed decisions about their plan of care, see the value services offered and maintain engagement with their rehabilitation.
Ensure Huskie Health privacy policies and procedures adhere to professional practice guidelines and university policies including charting standards.
Community based sideline sport coverage.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education: Master of Physical Therapy/BScPT or equivalent. Continuing education in Sport Physiotherapy is preferred.
Licenses: Eligible for licensure with the Saskatchewan College of Physical Therapists; valid First Aid and CPR.
Experience – Preference will be given to those applicants with:
- A minimum of two years of experience in an orthopedic clinic setting
- Experience working with high performance athletes
- First Responder Certification
- Sport Physio Canada Certificate or Diploma Credentials
- Ability to use dry needling or acupuncture
- Commitment to professional development
- Membership with the Canadian Physiotherapy Association (CPA)
Skills: The ability to work independently and as a team member in a fast-paced clinical setting. An entrepreneurial skillset assisting in the development and establishment of a newly founded private practice. Strong communication, problem solving, and organizational skills required. Knowledge and proficiency in Electronic Medical Records.
