Fowler Kennedy Sport Medicine Clinic offers a unique and competitive program focusing on the mentorship and development of physiotherapists eager to pursue careers working with the active and athletic population. For 25 years our Fellowship program has provided therapists with opportunities to learn, work and train in a multi-disciplinary setting, along with the benefits of mentorship by Sport Diploma and Certificate physiotherapists. Candidates will be exposed to a collaborative, evidence based approach to the management of activity and sport related injuries, and will gain valuable field hours with nationally competitive university and college teams, or experience with an OHL hockey team. This educational experience is based on SPC requirements and is tailored to your needs.

Application deadline is April 1, 2019

– 10 month program (starting mid August to early September) designed for those who would like to gain field experience with a number of sports and/or challenge the SPC Certificate exam
– Opportunity to be team therapist for University or College varsity teams

– 10 month program (starting early July) designed for those who have significant field experience and would like to further refine their skills or gain hours to challenge either the Certificate or Diploma exam
– Opportunity to be team therapist with CIS Football Team (fall) or OHL Hockey Team

– Develop leaders in sport & exercise medicine
– Increase clinical competence in management of sport and orthopedic injuries in the athletic and active population
– Cultivate a balanced approach to care of athletes through exposure to collaborative and interdisciplinary care
– Experience the continuum of care for the athlete from pre-particpation physicals, to field and clinical management, and full return to sport
– Develop confidence and skill in sideline management of injuries through work with various sports teams and events
