Call for Chief Reviewer – POSITION FILLED

SPC is seeking passionate members of the Sport Physio community to join in the role of Chief Reviewer to help develop, lead and oversee a new evidence-based review in Sports Medicine. The goal of this initiative, also known as The Sports Review, is to help disseminate information down from research to practice to help members remain current and informed in their clinical decision making.

The Sports Review will be a quarterly publication providing an overview of research published on a particular topic, drawn from article(s) and/or systematic review(s) found in the British Journal of Sports Medicine.

The candidate will be one of two Chief Reviewers overseeing four working groups across Canada, each of which will be responsible for one review annually.  The role of the Chief Reviewers will be to liaise with all working groups to aid in the completion of each edition, while ensuring consistency between them. Duties may include, but are not limited to, template development, assisting with topic selection and publication of each edition to share with SPC members.

The candidate should have experience & special interest in research with understanding and skill in critical appraisal. All candidates will be considered; however, preference will be given to those with one or more of the following qualifications:

  • Research based Masters
  • PhD (or PhD Candidate)
  • Doctorate of Physical Therapy
  • FCAMPT with successful completion of the mandatory Research Methods course
  • Clinical Masters in Advanced Orthopedics (MClSc or equivalent)


Call for Editors – STILL OPEN

SPC is seeking passionate members of the Sport Physio community to join in the role of Editor to review articles and write up summaries for a new evidence-based review in Sports Medicine. The candidate would be working in a working group to complete the review; with each working being responsible for one to two reviews per year. The goal of this initiative, also known as The Sports Review, is to help disseminate information down from research to practice to help members remain current and informed in their clinical decision making.

The Sports Review will be a quarterly publication providing an overview of research published on a particular topic, drawn from article(s) and/or systematic review(s) found in the British Journal of Sports Medicine.

The candidate will be one of eight to twelve reviewers across Canada. The candidate will be assigned to working group of two to three, with each working group being responsible for one to two reviews annually.  The role of the Editor will be to liaise with your working groups and the Chief Editors to aid in the completion of the edition. Duties may include, but are not limited to, assisting with topic selection, reviewing article(s), writing up a review, doing interactive/clinically applicable photos/videos, communication with team and Chief Editor, for the assigned edition of the review to share with SPC members.
